If you regard dancing not only as part of your education and as a treasure of Austrian culture, but also seek a sporting challenge in it, you can take the examinations for all Austrian Dance Sport Badges with us.

for beginners and advanced dancers
Please register by the registration deadline at the latest together with your dance partner in the foyer for the desired date. Before registering, please agree together which dances you will perform. Late registrations cannot be accepted.
If you register for the Silver, Gold or Gold Star examination classes, please bring your Dance Sport Badge record with you when registering.
The issuing of a duplicate is subject to a fee and is possible only if the original was also issued by Elmayer Dance School.
Participation is reserved exclusively for students of Elmayer Dance School.
Please note the registration deadline posted at the dance school.
Registration takes place in pairs and in person at Elmayer Dance School.
The badges can be earned only in sequence, with a maximum of two classes assessed together at one examination date.
The lady and gentleman are assessed separately. In each of the listed classes, five grades may be awarded: Excellent – Very Good – Good – Passed – Not Passed.
The decisions of the evaluating dance teacher are final.
For the Bronze Dance Sport Badge, 4 dances from the World Dance Programme are to be selected. Timing, posture and harmony of movement are assessed.
The figures to be danced for each dance are:
Slow Waltz: Basic Steps, Natural Turn, Reverse Turn, Outside Change.
Quickstep: Basic Step, Natural Turn, Reverse Turn.
Tango: Walks, Rock Turn, Reverse Turn, Promenade.
Viennese Waltz: Natural Turn.
Cha Cha Cha: Basic Step, Promenade, Lady’s Solo Turn, Hand to Hand.
Square Rumba: Basic Step, Carré (with Turn), Lady’s Solo Turn, Promenade.
Samba: Basic Step, Whisk, Lady’s Solo Turn, Promenade.
Boogie: Basic Step, Lady’s Right Turn, Lady’s Left Turn, Various Changes of Place, Shoulder Hold.
Paso Doble: Attack, Promenade, Lady’s Turn.
For the Silver Dance Sport Badge, 5 dances from the World Dance Programme are to be selected. In addition to timing, posture and harmony of movement, foot technique is also assessed.

Slow Waltz: Whisk, Chassé, Spin Turn.
Quickstep: Side Chassé, Forward Lock Step.
Tango: Open Reverse Turn, Promenade Natural Turn (with Rock Turn).
Viennese Waltz: Natural Turn, Reverse Turn, Forward Running Change.
Cha Cha Cha: Fan, Alemana, Spot Turn.
Square Rumba: Rumba Roll, Circular Walk.
Cuban Rumba: Fan, Alemana, Spot Turn.
Samba: Side Samba Walk, Outside Kick Step.
Jive: Stop and Go, American Spin.
Paso Doble: Promenade Natural Turn, Separation.
For the Gold Dance Sport Badge, 6 dances from the World Dance Programme are to be selected. Timing, posture, harmony of movement and especially foot technique are assessed.

Quickstep: Back Lock Step, Tipple Chassé, Spin Turn.
Tango: Four Step, Outside Swivel.
Viennese Waltz: Natural Turn, Reverse Turn, Backward Running Change.
Cha Cha Cha: Hockey Stick, Three Cha Chas, Lasso.
Cuban Rumba: Hockey Stick, Natural Top, Opening Out, Advanced Hip Twist.
Samba: Bota Fogos, Criss Cross Voltas.
Jive: Whip, Spanish Arms.
Paso Doble: Counter Promenade with Promenade Spin and Change of Place.
For the Gold Star Dance Sport Badge, 8 dances from the World Dance Programme are to be selected. Timing, posture, harmony of movement and foot technique are again assessed.

Slow Waltz: Wing, Telemark.
Quickstep: V6, Double Lock Step.
Tango: Telemark, Twist Turn.
Viennese Waltz: Left Fleckerl / Reverse Fleckerl.
Cha Cha Cha: Turkish Towel, Cuban Breaks.
Cuban Rumba: Spiral, Open Hip Twist.
Samba: Rolling Off the Arm, Open Rocks.
Jive: Kick Variation.
Paso Doble: Chassé Cape.
