Ball Express Courses
Learn the most important and most frequently danced styles at Vienna’s balls in just three sessions – for your perfect enjoyment on the dance floor!

Semester Break
During the Viennese semester break (February 1–7), our youth, couples, and senior courses are on pause. Private lessons are available at any time.
Practice Courses
Sunday, February 1: Both youth practice courses take place. The advanced course is extended and runs from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
Saturday, February 7: No couples’ practice course.
Sunday, February 8: No practice courses.
Left-Turn Waltz Training
During the holidays, from Monday (February 2) to Saturday (February 7), you can practice the left-turn waltz for ball openings with us every day at 5:00 pm. Just drop by!
Ball Express Course Plus
The compact ball preparation course for everyone who wants to get quickly and stylishly fit for the ball.
The Ball Crash Course Plus takes place over the course of one week during the semester break, with each session lasting 120 minutes. In addition to the most important dances for the ball season, you will also learn the quadrille—a highlight that is enthusiastically danced along with the audience at many Viennese balls.
Ideal for anyone who wants to refresh their dance skills or prepare efficiently and purposefully for a ball evening.
The Elmayer-Kränzchen
The Elmayer-Kränzchen is one of Vienna's classic traditional balls and has been held since 1920. This grand Hofburg ball unites young and old, music and dance—an evening of exceptional elegance.
Tickets and table seats can be purchased until 21 December 2025 and again from 7 January 2026 daily between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM directly at the Elmayer Dance School.
Tickets and tables can only be paid for on site in cash or by card. Please note that table and box seats do not include admission tickets.

Waltz Training
Special preparation for the autumn audition, e.g. for the Jägerball, the Opera Ball, the Philharmoniker Ball, the Techniker Cercle, etc., or as refresher training for taking part in all ball openings.
Date: every Tuesday at 5:00 pm
Duration: 50 minutes
Youth
Experience dancing, fun and etiquette at Vienna’s largest youth meeting place. Open balls at the Hofburg and take the Dance Performance Badge.
Course start: September and January*
Duration: weekly until the end of the school year
Couples
Discover the dances of the World Dance Programme together and enjoy unforgettable evenings as a couple.
Course starts: October, January and April
Duration: 10 weeks each, progressive courses
Seniors
Stay active and enjoy relaxed afternoons in harmony with the music.

The enchanting Viennese balls
For more than one hundred years, Elmayer has stood for discerning Viennese ball culture. With our know-how, we support ball events from a school ball with 200 to a Hofburg ball with 6,000 guests. Our dance school is closely connected to the Viennese ball tradition.
